• Liberty starts work on multi-million-pound gas servicing contract

Liberty has started work on a new 11-year contract with Crawley Borough Council, worth £34.3 million which will see Crawley Borough Council make an estimated saving of £1 million of revenue funding.

The new partnership sees Liberty take responsibility for day-to-day gas repairs, annual safety checks and out of hours work.

Liberty specialises in the full range of property services including reactive and planned maintenance across all technical disciplines, refurbishments, mechanical and electrical projects, construction and renewable energy.

Liberty will also take on responsibility for planned boiler and heating replacements from April 2020.

Karen Sloan, Liberty’s recently appointed Managing Director – Gas Maintenance said: “In partnership with Crawley Borough Council, Liberty will deliver programme of gas servicing and responsive maintenance work to over 8,000 properties. This is another significant contract for Liberty and builds on an outstanding period of growth for the organisation.

“At Liberty we pride ourselves on achieving exceptional quality and value for money, and this is a really exciting opportunity for us to work in partnership with the Council to deliver a smart new people focused approach that delivers efficiency and creates the best possible value Crawley’s tenants.”

The new contract with Crawley Borough Council comes following a strong start to 2019 for Liberty Group, which secured four new contracts worth £6m in January enabling it to create new jobs in the South East, South West and Midlands.
