Liberty awarded RoSPA Gold Award for the second year
Liberty has achieved a Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the second year running.
The Gold award demonstrates excellence within Liberty’s health and safety standards and proves an ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards across all operational areas year on year. The RoSPA awards are the longest running and most highly respected occupational safety awards programme.
Liberty’s HSQE department plays an overarching role in ensuring best practice is maintained throughout the company, providing advice and support and conducting regular audits. The award is only achievable by the hard work from every member of the Liberty team from the operatives delivering on site, clients and back office teams ensuring everything is in place to provide the highest standards.
Liberty ensure these high standards of health and safety by:
- Senior management providing strong leadership and creating a culture that promotes the importance of health and safety.
- An overarching health and safety strategy back up by robust KPIs.
- Regular visits and inspections of work on sites, known as audits, to ensure standards are maintained.
- An innovative electronic auditing which can record data 'live' to an online platform at the time of the inspection and send issues requiring action straight to the relevant supervisor.
As well as accidents being reported, Liberty also encourages reporting of ‘near misses’. This allows the company to identify key trends and issues so that procedures can be put in place to eliminate risks before an accident occurs.
A ‘near miss’ campaign was held promoting this scheme to staff, resulting in a rise in near misses being logged.
