Liberty Group's Electrical Site Supervisor Pete Carey has been shortlisted as Inspirational Colleague of the Year in this year's Housing Heroes Awards!
Pete was shortlisted in recognition for saving the life of two-year-old Brittney Pollak following a visit to a customer's property in Eccles, Salford, last year.
During the visit, Brittney's parents discovered her unconscious and not breathing. As a trained first aider Pete stayed calm and put into practice everything he had learnt. He acted quickly taking the child from her mother and placing her on the floor. Whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive Pete gave CPR for around 3 minutes and resuscitated her. The paramedics commended Pete for his actions, stating that if she had not received CPR before they arrived there may have been an extremely different outcome.
The Housing Heroes Awards will be held on 25th June at Manchester Central.
