Bespoke radiators find new home

At Liberty we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve, as part of our wider environmental, social and governance commitments.

So, when 37 bespoke Enviroheat electric radiators were no longer required by one of our clients and could not be returned to the manufacturer or merchant, Liberty’s Head of Fleet Sam Greenwood and Waste and Recycling Manager, John Brabin was keen to find a suitable home for them to prevent them going to waste.

Instead of scrapping the radiators, which could have generated a small income based on their material value, the stock of brand-new radiators was donated to DIY social enterprise Reciprocity Wirral. This has meant the surplus radiators will be sold to people who need them at a fraction of their original cost including charities, community groups, families, homeowners, landlords, renters, churches, schools, and more.

Waste and Recycling Manager, John Brabin said: “Our unused radiators are going back into the community to support families and social groups who may not be able to afford building and DIY material from high street retailers.

“As a business always striving to support the communities we work in, I am delighted we are working in partnership with Reciprocity Wirral and I hope we can continue to work with them more in the future.”
