We are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist with the financial and contractual management of numerous construction projects, to work in the North West and Wales region.

Key responsibilities for this Assistant Quantity Surveyor role are:

Maximise the profitability of each projects

Understand the tendering process, ability to create tender documents

Prepare commercial agreements with sub-contractors and/ or suppliers

Maximise value/ income on a monthly basis

Work with the company commercial timetable

Maximise the monthly cash flow position

Ensure appropriate tender margin is met on each project

Look for ways to increase margin

Assist the SQS to provide accurate and consistent cost reports

Manage low value schemes alongside the SQS with the contractual position at all stages of a project managing compliance of the company and sub-contractors

Implement terms of contracts with subcontractors

Maintain an awareness of contractual positions

Effectively managing risk assisting the SQS

Undertake enquiry, quotation and order processes efficiently

Ensure accurate analysis of subcontractor applications

Submit proposals to SQS regarding the let of contracts to highly quality subcontractors

Provide accurate financial and quality compliance analysis

Resolve any issues to SQS based on monthly reporting and CVR process

Follow the client reporting process

Adherence to schedule of reporting

Discuss and resolve day to day issues with clients and consultants and maintain professional relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors

Experience and qualifications

Relevant degree (Quantity Surveying/ Construction Management) Desirable

Member of RICS/ other relevant professional body Desirable

Hold a CSCS card (desirable) & Full clean driving license

Relevant quantity surveying experience in commercial/ construction sector, have experience of managing own projects, excellent working knowledge of MS Office packages.

Experience of complying with:

Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental policies and procures

Procurement processes, material and labour authorization processes

Tender policy, process and legislation

Format of the letting of commercial agreements with sub-contractors

Contractor contract charge application process

Using dilapidation surveys to generate bill of quantities

Performance assessment of contractors

Environmental effects of products/ and/ or services

Safe and secure storage and maintenance of internal and external documentation
