September 1, 2018 marked the first day of Liberty Group’s new three-year £7.5m contract with North-West based landlord Great Places Housing Group.

Liberty Group will be working with Great Places Housing Group to supply gas installation, servicing and maintenance to over 12,000 of its homes across Blackburn, Fylde, Manchester, Oldham and Rochdale, Salford and Sheffield.

The three-year contract is worth £2.5 million per year.

A TUPE transfer of 24 staff from Great Places to Liberty has taken place to support the smooth delivery of the contract.

Derek Corbishley, Managing Director of Liberty, said: “This week marks the start of our three-year partnership with Great Places. The TUPE transfer of staff has been a great success and the team have hit the ground running as we begin delivering first-class gas installation, servicing and maintenance to over 12,000 of the landlord’s properties.”

Matthew Harrison, Chief Executive at Great Places, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Liberty and know they will do a great job delivering gas services and maintenance work at Great Places properties. Delivering excellent customer service is our top priority and the TUPE transfer means that people in our homes can expect a continued efficient service from familiar colleagues after contacting us in the usual ways.”

Great Places homes offering supported living accommodation at Fielder Lodge in Manchester are the first properties Liberty has provided services to through the new contract, and residents there were presented with flowers and a voucher to mark the occasion.

Senior Support Worker Johanna Durbin at Fielder Lodge said: “Thank you for the excellent service shown by the engineer. We will display the flowers in the communal kitchen at Fielder Lodge and use the Amazon voucher to buy something decorative for the communal lounge".
